Consider The Children

This 4-hour parenting class provides information and support for parents or parental custodians who are undergoing a divorce, paternity action, or parenting plan modification. Classes are provided twice monthly in Thurston, Lewis, and Pierce County locations. At the end of each class participants will be provided with a certificate which they can then file with the court to document that they have taken the class.

Impact of Domestic Violence on Children

This 4-hour seminar that provides information designed to assist parents in supporting children who have witnessed, or have been affected by domestic violence. Classes are provided twice per month but seperately for Moms and Dads, in Thurston County at the FESS office. At the end of each class participants will be provided with a certificate which they can then file with the court  to document that they have taken the class.

Family Education & Support Programs – Parenting & Family Values (MRT)

This 12-week parenting program is based on the curriculum, Moral Reconation Therapy and is designed to address past parenting behaviors, present family interactions and assist parents in planning for a healthy family future. This behavioral-based approach to parenting encourages parents to recognize the value of taking responsibility for the choices they make, and for the actions they take. Cost for attendance is $200 per person. An installment plan can be arranged. We are a contracted provider with DSHS Children’s Services. We offer the class weekly in Mason and Thurston County.

Kinship Program

FREE! The Kinship Programs link grandparents and other relative caregivers to support groups, provides education, and increased access to resources in the community. These programs are supported in part by the Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging and the Department of Social and Health Services, Aging and Disability Services Administration.

Men as Fathers

This 12-week parenting program is intended to improve the lives of children by promoting healthy father-child relationships and increasing positive male involvement. Based on the award winning curriculum “Nurturing Father” this program examines the roots of father, child development, balancing work and father, and conflict resolution. Cost for attendance is $250 per person and includes all program materials. An installment plan can be arranged.

Parents Helping Parents

You are not alone!  Parents Helping Parents is a free, supportive, non-judgmental environment for parents who want to improve their relationships with their children by sharing the journey with others.  This group meets every 1st and 3rd Wednesday evening from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm and offers free Child care.

Winning at Parenting

This family participation parenting program is designed to increase the health of families by helping parents develop their parenting skills. Throughout the 6-week class, group members share parenting strengths and identify areas for personal growth.
